Fenlex Corporate Services Ltd., one of the leading corporate service providers in Malta, is looking to recruit a Senior VAT Accountant.
The successful candidate chosen will form part of a dynamic team that handles a predominantly international clientele operating across a wide range of industries as well as the firm’s private clients. General Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Management on the technical aspects of all VAT‑related work, including contributing to the drafting and enhancement of internal procedures
- Managing and overseeing the VAT compliance work carried out by junior team members across a diverse client portfolio
- Handling complex VAT matters, including advisory work, cross‑border VAT implications, sector‑specific VAT treatment, and analysis of legislative changes
- Reviewing VAT returns, VAT recapitulative statements, and related submissions
- Assisting clients with VAT registrations, deregistrations, and ongoing statutory requirements
- Liaising with tax authorities on VAT compliance matters, audits, queries, and investigations
- Attending meetings with clients to discuss VAT positions, compliance requirements, and provide guidance as required
Requirements of the ideal Candidate:
- Fully qualified accountant
- Minimum of two years’ experience working specifically within VAT or indirect taxation
- Possession of a professional qualification or certification in taxation.
- Strong knowledge of VAT legislation, especially Maltese and EU VAT frameworks
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
- Excellent written and spoken English
