Karl started his career in hospitality, as part of the management team of his family’s business. He later joined the National Student Travel Foundation, where he assumed the role of Manager. In 1991, he returned to the family business where he managed a Tourist resort. His responsibilities involved restructuring the business, expanding its capacity, and introducing new technologies. Upon completion of his projects, Karl ventured into technology sales of key brands during his time at BDS Ltd. Today, he maintains ties to the hospitality industry through the ownership of Rubino in Valletta, honoured with a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the last 4 years.

Through the past 20 years, Karl has focused on board positions in a variety of industries, as well as compliance functions with a particular focus on Anti-Money Laundering regulation. Karl’s vast experience also delves into the online Gaming sector, having assisted a large number of companies obtain their license, as well as providing regulatory and compliance advice in this regard. More recently, he has been heavily involved in the provision of services to the Superyacht client, both private and commercial.
